I thought it would make the piece more interesting if i added pieces of work that i had done. the idea was that it would give the work more dimensions.

EVALU ATION.

The use of light is probably the most important way of communication to audiences and can/is used in so many ways. Weather it just be lit sign, neon light construction, photo that has been taken through the refraction of light, projection etc. The most interesting ways I found to communicate where, 3-D imagery and light projection. 3-D imagery for its novelty, which is not a negative thing to be because its that novelty that captures an audience that may have not taken interested if it was in another format. Light projection for its striking nature and the possibility for moving image in it is also interesting for it novel aspect. From looking at contemporary animations and insulations done by artists showing how light can be still used in such interesting ways, and the limitless nature that working with light seems to aspire to do. I feel that my research into this subject has barely scratched the surface of what is possible to do with light. So much so that it would have been impossible to document in a meir blog or sketch book. What I feel I have done is to document a few interesting styles of light manipulation that could be broadly used to capture an audience in so many ways. E.g., film, animation, poster, flyer, television ad, exabition, billboard, etc. My animation that I did showing the process of light going into a light bulb would have looked (if more developed) as a projection or indeed as a 3-D single image (again if further developed) because of its simple composition. It could have easily been turned into an advert in a magazine if need but even as a message I think it really would have been appealing to a large audience. What I learned from this is that the concept of a ‘light’ based idea can be very interesting on its own, but if developed with other media such as, design software (In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, Finalcut etc). It can become a more interesting and interactive piece of design. Meaning one piece of technology on its own can look good, but with the use of other medias it can look amazing and its expansion to audiences can be limitless.

example of projection advertising

These images are an example of how this light projection could work in a communication to audience sense. What makes this image work is how the variety of colours brings defernition and composition to the image. The potential for this use of projection i could see being applied to an advertisement. Its posies are that it can range from small to large scale depending on its location, also it can be used anywhere for example a wall. Meaning it cud harise unused space without damage. its negative is that as it needs darkness for it to be seen it loses a daytime audience. which depending on the audience of the product cud be quite damaging.

Mo' fun with the the fiber optic light.

these are just a example of the verity of colours offered by the light itself in a dark room. To an audience this would apperd to b very entrancing any mysterious. The only issue with it in a audience sense is that to get the best result out of it you would have to show it in a dark place or at night, minimizing its potential audience.
